The Graduate Program in Physics aims at the formation of researchers and teachers in different areas of physics. Since 1997 the program has graduated more than 162 masters and more than 70 Ph.D. The strengths of the program are the high productivity and interdisciplinary, with a high participation of students in scientific publications. In the last triennial reviews of CAPES, the program got rating 5. The graduate program faculty comprise 17 permanent members, most of whom are CNPq researchers and have been working in 30 different lines of research, both theoretical and experimental. The UEM program is among the best programs in Parana state, and with national and international repercussions. Professors and students are able to work with a modern infrastructure in the research laboratories, in addition to the several institutional multi-user facilities, providing the students with the opportunity to develop their work with adequate infrastructure, by using groundbreaking technologies.
