The program has 17 mentors, most of whom are CNPq fellows, committed in different research lines. The faculty is composed of approximately 70% of researchers in the experimental areas and 30% in theoretical areas. In addition to individual activities, collaborations between researchers from different groups have strengthened the program and contributed to a broader training of students. Program members and students are also involved in collaborations with researchers from other national and international institutions through projects such as the National Institutes of Science and Technology and sandwich internship (PROCAD and PVE projects). The program has a student body of about eighty master, doctoral and postdoctoral students involved in research activities and support for graduate students. The main objective has been the training of specialized human resources, to both meet the regional demand and the state and national demands.
